"Getting Things Done"

One of the sayings at the end of our pledge thing is "Get things Done", which I think is kinda funny. Anyways the Humane Society was a lot of fun but we were only able to get two hours because they didn't have a lot for us to do. We just walked some of the bigger dogs for about two hours. Mine was a cute boxer/lab mix named Sinbad... I decided it was easier to call him buddy. He was mine for those couple hours. Made me really realize I am going to HAVE to adopt an animal from the shelter of wherever I end up, most likely back in MN with mom and dad and DOG!! (just giving you ten months to allow me to get one parents :-))

The soup kitchen Monday was a lot of fun and really eye opening. We were there for nine hours, preparing the food, serving it and then cleaning up. They said they feed about 500 people every Monday which was amazing. The line was never ending from 1-5 when we were open. It was so sad to see the wide range of ages and people that were in need of the food and are homeless. Makes me that much more thank full for all that I have and this amazing opportunity I am being given right now to help others. The rest of this week if full of trainings (safety in general and tool safety) should be a grand time of trying to pay attention. haha

A couple of my good girl friends here and I are going to be crayola crayons for the campus Halloween party Friday and then we are volunteering at the Children's museum on Saturday evening so that should be a lot of fun. We're going to attempt to make the bus ride to Walmart tomorrow for some fabric and such. It is SO inconvenient not having a car here... like wow... we end up paying more for public transportation than what we are going to. We are doing some fun stuff on our days off and evenings. The other night we went to that Law Abiding Citizen movie... which was pretty gory for my liking. We just bought tickets for a Nuggets and an Avalanche games that are coming up next week so I am really pumped for that. We are supposed to get a lot of snow tonight and through the next couple days which I am wayyy excited about. Hope all is great with everyone back home!! Miss my friends and family from good ol MN and elsewhere.

Love,
Nicole
